Luciana Paoluzzi was born Rome and was raised in Rome by her parents. Her father was Manlio Paoluzzi who was an Italian military officer. Maria Rota Paoluzzi was one of the mistresses of Benito Mussolini. There is no information on whether there are any siblings. She was in a local high school and upon entering the college in 1955, she pursued marine engineering in the Scientific Academy of Milan - Luciana was the only woman in her class. Within two years she started her modeling career. Shortly after that she had the opportunity to act in Three Coins in the Fountain during a trip to Rome visiting a friend of her father.
